2022 CHINESE ZODIAC: TIGER

2022 is the year the Tiger takes centre stage. Back off, Ox! The Tiger is ready to roar!

The year that was 2021 required you to be pro-active and action-oriented. The negative stars such as the Sky Emptiness and Robbery Sha were messages for you to walk the talk. There was plenty of support available for you with two awesome nobleman stars, the Great Sun and Sky Gracious. If you had activated those nobleman stars in 2021, by first becoming a nobleman to others, I would say that you are fully prepared for your coming Grand Duke year.

You have a pretty long list of stars in your Tiger column this year. Below is one permutation of how things could pan out.

TOP CAT! READY FOR A BREAKTHROUGH?

1. GRAND DUKE

In 2022, it’s time for you to step up and take the lead. Like it or not, you are the Grand Duke of 2022 which puts you in the leadership position. Notice the grey outline for this star? Most traditional masters consider this to be a bad star. That’s because, in the olden days, they don’t like trouble. For them, a good life is one where nothing much ever happens.

But we all know that, in order to achieve, we need to solve problems. That’s what the Grand Duke is all about. So that’s why I’ve decided to classify this as a rather neutral star. If you have the capacity to say, “Bring it on!”, 2022 may be the year you achieve your breakthrough.

2. EARTH SHA

When we use the word ‘breakthrough’, naturally it implies that there are obstacles that need to be overcome. This is what the Earth Sha represents – obstacles. The more obstacles you can decimate, the stronger a leader you become.

3. DUKE’S ARRIVAL

Your leadership in 2022 will be supported by several very promising stars. One of them, the Duke’s Arrival, can be interpreted as a star that brings you followers. After all, what’s a leader without followers?

4. HEAVENLY OFFICER

Now, if you think you are going to spend 2022 herding a bunch of sheep around, don’t worry! The Heavenly Officer represents the opportunity to connect with someone in authority, most likely a government official, who has the power to help you overcome the obstacles that are represented by the Earth Sha.

For business owners, this could mean meeting someone who has the authority to cut through red tapes for you. If you are a career professional, then this represents the chance to get certified.

5. HEAVENLY CHEF

Connecting with someone in power will require some effort. That person is not going to suddenly ‘show up’. Yes, some schmoozing is on the cards for 2022. That’s where the Heavenly Chef comes in. It promises good food and good company.

6. HIDDEN CORPSE

But don’t over-indulge too much, though! The Hidden Corpse which denotes illnesses, is hanging about.

7. INTELLIGENCE

Does 2022 sound like a lot of hard work? The Intelligence Star comes into your quadrant to provide even more support. This star enhances your intellectual capacity. Supported by the Intelligence Star, what was once incomprehensible may suddenly become easy!

But again, please remember that nothing comes without effort. So if you want to activate the Intelligence Star, you need to start exercising more of those little grey cells of yours.

8. SWORD EDGE

In particular, use that enhanced intellectual capacity to closely examine your communications and legal documents. There’s a Sword Edge hanging about which denotes potential legal problems caused by miscommunication.

The smartest way to avoid the Sword Edge?  Make sure you read through everything carefully or if you can afford it, hire a legal eagle to solve these problems for you.

9. BACK POKING

One of the natural by-product of success is envy! The Back Poking is exactly as it is named – being backstabbed by others. There are only two ways to deal with this – either ignore the Back Poking and keep moving forward and keep achieving, or don’t be a leader, allow yourself to be engulfed by the obstacles, and stay stagnated with those losers.

The Ox in 2022 has got a nice balance of positive and negative stars coming into your sector. But here’s the thing – you have a conscious choice to make.

1. SURPASSING PATH

If you have taken the chance to assume the leadership mantle in 2021 with the Grand Duke, 2022 brings you the Surpassing Path which basically brings about increased visibility and social status. You were the boss! People are still looking at you!

2. RED MATCHMAKER

The Red Matchmaker is a peach blossom star. The traditional interpretation calls it the star of love at first sight. But even if you are no longer single and available, you can still use the Red Matchmaker in a positive way. Since it is basically a peach blossom star, all it means is that along with your increased visibility comes increased likability.

3. GOLDEN CARRIAGE

Most importantly, you are supported by the Golden Carriage which brings the opportunity to increase your wealth capacity. Loosely translated, the Golden Carriage is akin to people giving you opportunities.

2022 CHINESE ZODIAC: RAT

Before we talk about the 2022 Chinese Zodiac for the Rat, let’s do a quick recap of the year that was 2021.

By all accounts, the Rat should have experienced a pretty good year in 2021. With the Grand Duke Combination, I hope you have made a lot of new contacts and solidified new partnerships. Did you make full use of the Intelligence star to upskill? Were you able to use the Surpassing Path to enhance your social status? Did the Jade Hall help you increase the value of your assets?

Hang on to those contacts, partnership, skill, and assets. You are going to need them in 2022. Because the coming year will be what you make of it.

Unfortunately, the Rat has no positive stars to speak of in 2022. Don’t worry. The world’s not coming to an end!

CHINESE ZODIAC: THE RAT IN 2022

1. RED CHAMBER

Having been the Grand Duke’s best friend in 2021, along comes the Red Chamber that denotes sudden and unexpected romance luck. I would classify this as a rather neutral star in today’s world. While it literally means fleeting romances, it can only mean that some of the contacts you made were just temporary in nature. Without extra effort on your end, these contacts or network may fade away.

2. PRISON

When your contacts fade away, achieving break-through may become a little more difficult. That is what the Prison star is trying to tell you. It denotes a feeling of either physically or mentally trapped. Remember! The Rat is a restless energy. This particular star will cause an inordinate amount of stress for the Rat. Look out for tendencies to be constantly churning around the same issues. When this happens, you need to take action. Prison can also mean fines or taxes. So pay attention when you are driving, parking or even to your business statutory.

3. STRESS!

The end result of this would be an inordinate amount of stress. Therefore, stress management would be key for the Rat in 2022.

4. CALAMITY SHA

Feeling stressed and frustrated, it is normal for anyone to become short-tempered or intolerant. Inadvertently, you will trigger the Calamity Sha which represents issues in your relationships with others. Again, awareness is the key here. 5. GOAT BLADE

What do Rats do when they are trapped in a corner? They fight! Faced with stagnation, the Rat may be feeling a little more rash or impatient than usual.

6. SKY DOG

The Sky Dog is a wastage and loss star. This is a warning that you should not buy recklessly this year. It could also denote physical injuries, so do be a bit more careful when you undertake physical activities.

7. FUNERAL GUEST

It’s a well-known fact that stress influences our physical well-being. Managing your stress level well will help you avoid the Funeral Guest which signifies low immunity. Mask up, Rat!

Now that you are aware of the potential pitfalls in 2022, the natural conclusion is that you will need to make your own luck in the coming year.

  1. To counter the Red Chamber, make the extra effort to nurture your network.
  2. Want to break out of Prison? Get yourself out of your comfort zone and meet people, create new networks.

#60 GUI HAI (癸亥)/WATER PIG: THE GIFT OF FORMLESSNESS

Formless and mysterious, the Gui Hai (癸亥) or Water Pig is the most enigmatic of the 60 Pillars. Pictured as a mist rising from the half-frozen lake in the depths of the night, or a dark body of still water on a moonless night, the pillar that is also known as the Black Tortoise Day is one of the hardest to pin down.

Let’s try to ‘experience’ this pillar together. Come for a night stroll with me into the woods. No, we’re not bringing that lantern. That’s for wusses! But try not to bump into too many trees along the way. See that lake? It looks dark and cold, doesn’t it? See the mist rising from the half-frozen waters? That’s Gui Hai!

GUI HAI (癸亥)/WATER PIG: OVERVIEW

Being unconventional is an integral part of the Gui Hai’s identity. You tend to keep people guessing. But don’t get me wrong. You don’t strive to become incalculable. It’s not done intentionally. You just are!

The formless nature of the Gui Hai (癸亥) or Water Pig is such that it gives you a bit of a chameleon-like magic. Like the water vapours that you represent, the shape of you changes to suit your environment.

On the outside, the Gui Hai (癸亥) or Water Pig, youngest of the 60 pillars, seem to be the weakest. But don’t be fooled by that soft exterior…

GUI HAI (癸亥)/WATER PIG: STRENGTHS

  1. The formlessness of the Gui Hai (癸亥) or Water Pig pillar comes from your Gui Water (癸) Day Master. As explained, this element is seen as water vapours. Think of the clouds or the mists that changes shape with the slightest puff of the breeze. What this element has got, above all else, is the gift of subtle influence. That’s your superpower. You change minds in the most imperceptible way. Just like how droplets of water will cling to people when they walk into a mist, everyone you encounter will leave your presence with just that little bit of your influence still clinging on to them.
  2. Your Ren Water (壬) Companion Star is known as the Goat Blade. Sounds scary? It isn’t, really. This is the wellspring of your strong desire to live life on your own terms. This is what gives you that competitive edge and rebellious streak that defies conventions. It gives you the courage and ambition to take bold action. It elevates your desire to always be the best in everything that you do.
  3. Both the Gui Water (癸) and Ren Water (壬) produces your Jia Wood (甲) Output Star. This is the end energy of this pillar and it is a very important element. The straightforward and honest nature of the Jia Wood is the anchor that stabilizes your pillar. Without it, there may be too much formlessness. This star gives context to your rebellious nature. It gives you the courage to voice your unconventional ideas and the charisma to carry it off.

With so much Water in a single pillar, the Gui Hai (癸亥) or Water Pig Day Master is seldom impeded by obstructions. You are always able to find the way out – no matter how tightly you have been cornered.

GUI HAI (癸亥)/WATER PIG: VULNERABILITIES TO BE AWARE OF

However, so much Water can also bring some vulnerabilities. Health could potentially be an issue. The Gui Hai (癸亥) Day Master tend to be particularly susceptible to illnesses. So, looking after your physical health must be one of your top priorities.

Additionally, when your Ren Water (壬) Rob Wealth Star is vibrating at a negative level, you also tend to become easily suspicious, envious, and covetous. It’s okay when you use these feelings as a motivation to achieve your goals. It’s not so okay if you constantly give in to them without turning those feelings into action. You may end up bitter, discontented, disgruntled and begrudging.

GUI HAI (癸亥)/WATER PIG: HOW YOU PRESENT

The first impression you give would be just a tiny bit cold and aloof. But despite that, you have the gift of getting along with almost everybody. Like I’ve said, you’re a bit of a chameleon. Everyone finds it easy to get to know you. But most people would find it difficult to truly understand you.

GUI HAI, BUT BETTER

Becoming Gui Hai, But Better is simply to ‘disperse’ some of that abundance of water in this pillar. How to do that? Easy! Incorporate an element of teaching, coaching or mentoring in everything you do.

In other words, I’m asking you to use your Jia Wood (甲) Output Star by sharing knowledge.
