NOVEMBER 2022 BAZI STRATEGIES | NOVEMBER RAIN

If September brought a sense of searching for clarity, while October talked about the need for discipline, November 2022 picks up again on the theme of the endless quest. The endless search for answers. Almost akin to a last gasp from the Water Element before giving way to the final year of Period 8 (officially).

WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?

Every year has its own Bazi Chart, plotted to the exact minute when the Chart changes from one year pillar to another. Similarly, every month has its own Bazi Chart as well. This chart, can also tell a story, albeit within the span of a single month.

The story can be broad as to describe the energies influencing everyone, but at the same time, can be distilled into opportunities and threats for the individuals based on our Day Master. Consider it as tiny tweaks that we can deploy as we pursue our agenda for 2022.

THE STORY OF NOVEMBER 2022

I write this with a strong sense of déjà vu. 2022, the year of the Water Tiger, is bookended by the Water and Wood elements. It began flush with Water, and it ends yet again with Water prominent in the Charts. Neat. But hardly tidy.

The focal point of the November 2022 Bazi Chart is the Xin Hai (辛亥) pillar. Visually, the Xin Hai is likened to a pearl nestled within the folds of an oyster, sitting warm and safe on the sea bed, lapped by the gentle waves. It’s artistic, it’s precise. It is the one Metal pillar that emerges in perfection. Nothing else required to sharpen its edge.

But, note the DE (Death and Emptiness) in the Month Pillar.

The Jia Wood Day Master, while technically strong, is waterlogged. This conveys a sense of people floating adrift upon a sea of information, yet feeling lost. Clinging to the last vestige of stability in a world of constant and rapid change.

There’s a strong sense of wanting to be cared for. With Fire so weak, hope is dim. Stability is undermined with Earth under attack. As Metal is all but sunken by the torrent, decision-making is stymied by a deluge of conflicting information or even, if I may say, disinformation.

Yet again, note the DE in the Month Pillar which puts the Resource and Companion stars into the void. People are searching for something… but they know not what they search.

Against this background, there are still possible opportunities for the 10 Day Masters.

Jia Wood Day Masters: Mental Discipline

For the Jia Wood Day Master, an access of Water means an access of Resource. Too many thoughts crowding into your head. Buffeted by the strong waves, you cling even harder to solid ground. This onslaught of Water can bring the threat of stress-related headaches, anxiety or even, depression. Knowing this in advance, practicing Mental Discipline to prioritize on your own mental wellness will be the key to float through the closing months of 2022. Unplug yourself off the matrix, if you need to.

Yi Wood Day Masters: Go Where The Tides Take You

Yi Wood Day Masters, you’ve planted your seeds of 2023 in September, planned your next course of action in October. Now in November, it’s time to explore. Less susceptible to anxiety as compared to your Yang counterpart, November could be a great month for a spot of aggressive exploration. Go where the tides take you and discover new things that could align to the plans you have in store. The only caution? Your fickle mind!

From the Bing Fire Day Master’s point of view, this is a Wealth month filled to the brim with opportunities to shine. Having capitalized on new ideas in October, November is the time to lay the foundations, to put in the hard work, get your house in order in preparation for your 7 Killings month which comes again in December.

November 2022 will be a good month for vision-setting, especially if you are a Ding Fire Day Master. By this, we mean long-term vision setting. Confronted with so much Water energies, self-motivating will be hard for the Ding Fire in November. In the eternal words of Guns n Roses, “It’s hard to hold a candle; In the cold November rain.”

Therefore, one must rely on one’s network. You, who have always been a beacon of light for others, must now rely on other sources to give you a fresh perspective.

Look for mentors who can give you a big-picture view of the lay of the land. The Ding Fire is always resource-reliant. But when Wood is wet and soggy, the Fire you create becomes smoggy, resulting in confusion. The easier way is to tap into your mentor and follow his or her lead.

Wu Earth Day Masters, let me tell you a story. A story about St. Paul’s Cathedral in Macau. During the enclave’s colonial days, St. Paul’s Cathedral was built by the Portuguese as a place of worship.

Legends have it that, in 1835, a great flood struck Macau. Lives were at stake. In the panic, St. Paul’s Cathedral was struck by lightning and, despite the rain, was quickly engulfed in flames. The fire burned so ferociously, that the cathedral became as a beacon to those trapped by the floods in the depths of the night. Guided by that beacon, the people of Macau were able to make it to high land… and safety.

How does that relate to you? In a Bazi Chart awash with fear, paranoia, and people searching for direction, you, the Wu Earth, are that mountain. That beacon of stability. From a search for clarity in September, the October 2022 Bazi Chart carries a clarion call for discipline. And along with the Metal Dog month… new opportunities arise for each of the 10 Day Masters.

WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?

THE STORY OF OCTOBER 2022

Let’s start with a quick overview. The month chart for October 2022 describes the need to embrace discipline in order to transform our lives. Effecting real change in our lives require discipline. From discarding old habits, to creating new and more positive ones. Implementing new ideas also require discipline. Even the creative endeavours require discipline. What happens when discipline falters? We fall off the wagon.

The focal point of the October 2022 Bazi Chart is the Geng Xu (庚戌) pillar. By itself, the Geng Xu is tough and carries a strong sense of resilience and endurance. It’s also quite an aggressive pillar.

From a pictorial point of view, this is a sword embedded into the rock. Yes, Excalibur! Wielding a sword requires strength, endurance, stamina, and (at the risk of sounding like a broken record), discipline!

But is this discipline welcome? Based on the October 2022 Bazi Chart, the answer is no. The weak Jia Wood Day Master in the Chart, will not enjoy the process of discipline. Yet, it’s time to bite the bullet. Because with this Influence Structure chart comes a call to trim the fat in order to be more streamlined and competitive.

For career professionals, please don’t offer to reduce your salary! Look instead into how you spend your time at work to be more efficient and effective.

Personal note: as a hiring manager for many years, I must admit that I hate looking at resumes. Because a resume tells me nothing. The candidate who can literally show me what he or she has accomplished, is the one who is going to get my attention.

Similarly for business owners, telling new customers that you work with X, Y or Z company is not enough. You need to show what you have accomplished for them.

This means that, for the Ding Fire, discipline comes in the form of words – your choice of words, to be specific. Trim down on the superlatives, focus on the results.

Wu Earth Day Masters: Nobleman detected!

Learning to ask for help is one of the key skills to success. With the support of others, our journey to attaining our goals become smoother and less ‘rocky’ (all puns intended). Technically, for the Wu Earth Day Master, the Xu or Dog month is not your nobleman month. However, the presence of both your Output and Resource stars hints at the availability of ‘volunteers’. Or in modern pop culture… minions!

So look around you, Wu Earth. Having made yourself accessible in September, who are the people around you who can be your volunteers?

But circling back to the keyword of the month, what kind of discipline are we talking about for the Wu Earth? How about disciplining our sense of self-pride? When we are too proud to ask for help, then we must do everything ourselves and inadvertently limit the scale of our results.

SEPTEMBER 2022 BAZI FORECAST | IN SEARCH OF CLARITY

From a Chinese Metaphysics point of view, August 2022 was a month of transitions. With so many relationships in the month’s chart, it looked to be a natural turning point where the influences of the Water Tiger (壬寅) begins to fade and the energies of the Water Rabbit (癸卯) begins to grow in ascendance. As the volatile energies of August recede, the month of September comes in with new opportunities for each of the 10 Day Masters.

WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?

THE STORY OF SEPTEMBER 2022

The month Chart describes a feeling. Consider it in terms of market psychographics. These descriptions are easiest when applied to business and marketing. However, with a little bit of critical thinking, you can of course, apply it to other areas of your life as well.

Being a Ji You (己酉) month, of course the month pillar will take prominence. The Ji You is often visualized as dry and fine sand. Think of miles upon miles of sandy dunes in the desert with the sand often shifting and changing the landscape.

Still on the example of a desert, this fine sand is dry Earth which can absorb a lot of Water. But deserts do flood!

With the preponderance of Water in the September 2022 Bazi Chart, this Ji You is being inundated by Water. This muddy and murky Water is the absence of clarity. In layman terms, the decision-making process for many people will be governed by strong emotions. Could it be yours? Better yet, now that you know, what can you do to help them?

The strong Water energies is washing away the solidity of the Earth element. Like standing on shifting sands, what was once comfortably familiar has shifted. To stress an unstable environment even further, the Rat-Rooster Destruction could mean that the emotions governing the decision-making process is likely to be Fear bordering on Paranoia.

Recently, as I write this, the term ‘quiet quitting’ has been in the international news. It describes how people are ‘checking out’ quietly from their jobs by just doing the bare minimum to get paid. This is what happens when Earth is weak. Like literally, “stop telling me what to do!”.

There is also impatience in the Chart. People want to get to the core of the problem. With the Pig-Tiger struggling to combine and create Wood, suddenly, there will be a one-month push to find new and unconventional solutions.

In the presence of very weak Fire, hope seems to be hidden. Wet Wood trying to ignite Fire results in a smoggy and smoky Fire that contributes to the general confusion, disinformation, and misdirection. So out of desperation, why not just try ‘whatever’?!? That in essence, describes the story of September 2022. But again my question to you: what if you can be that ‘whatever’?

Again, I stress, this is the feeling conveyed by the September 2022 Bazi Chart. It does not have to happen to you!

THE POSSIBILITIES OF SEPTEMBER 2022

Opportunity rides on the tailwinds of adversity. At the surface, it sure seems like there is a lot of complaining going on. But with Metal playing the part of Resource, there is opportunity to cut through the nonsense and get to the core of the problem.

With the strong Water comes the possibility to go with the flow and assimilate into new communities. People, (while complaining), are looking for new information or perspectives. They are looking for clarity.

Herein lies the possibilities – if you can be the person to provide that clarity, then September is set to be a good month for you.

Gui Water Day Masters: Train Your People Radar

Of the 10 Heavenly Stems, the Gui Water is the most fluid, changeable, and sensitive to those around you. September 2022 is the perfect month to train your people radar. Beyond that, it’s a great month to flex your inherent abilities to affect the emotions and sentiments of those around you. Of course, in sharing this information, I’m hoping you will use this to the good and spread happy vibes (as opposed to causing more trauma!).

The only caution for the Gui Water Day Master? Don’t get sucked in! Gui Water mixing with Ji Earth literally creates sticky and clingy mud. Helping others feel better is great. But if you get sucked in, it will be hard for you to disengage.

Jia Wood Day Masters: Opportunity To Gently Shape Your Reputation

From the perspective of the Jia Wood Day Master, this Ji You (己酉) month is like clay that you can gently shape into what you want. Putty in your hands? Maybe! This ‘clay’ represents your reputation and authority.

Therefore, September 2022 presents you with the opportunity to gradually reform how others view and react to you! Be it in your professional or personal life, how can you change the way others respond to you?

Like the pottery maker in the sample photo, the clay takes the shape dictated by the hands that guides it. Therefore, the solution is by changing your responses as well. Or, by being aware of how you automatically react to any given circumstances.

But go gently, and go slowly. This ‘clay’ is still being moulded. Too much pressure could break it. There is no rushing this process.

In a world where hope is diminished, you need to be the light that guides. After all, that’s the Bing Fire’s job! In the case of the September 2022 Bazi Chart, the Bing Fire is urgently needed to evaporate the flash flood.

Therefore, September 2022 provides you with a window of opportunity where you can share your ideas. These ideas must be immediately practicable and usable. You, after all, are the most far-sighted of the 10 Heavenly Stems. September 2022 brings an opportunity to fine-tune your plans by accumulating some peer feedback. Talk to your friends and colleagues, get a mentor. If you are student, perhaps advice from your teachers. Or at the very minimum, study your competitors.

You see, Ding Fire Day Masters are resource-reliant. However, in September 2022, this wet Wood is difficult for Ding Fire to consume. Which means that relying on data alone is not practicable. You will need some peer feedback.

Of course, there is the negative flip to this – you can create effective smokescreens, if you want to. But that’s only for those who are feeling just a teensy-weensy bit evil right now. 😊

All the water and mud in the September 2022 Bazi Chart can evoke a feeling of isolation from the perspective of the Wu Earth. Like a defensive moat that encircles you, the temptation to self-isolate will be like a siren call. Irresistible!

Nevertheless, please resist! Otherwise, you risk stagnating all the progress that you have made in 2022. After all, this Ren Yin (壬寅) year was a great chance for you to take action and get moving. So why self-sabotage?

Instead, do lower the drawbridge and make it easy for your friends, family, fans, and tribe to access you.

Ah! The ever-resourceful Ji Earth Day Master. Let’s think on this a minute. What would the land need to be fertile? How can we help the land be more productive? Bear fruit? Water and sun in abundance, of course. And that’s precisely what the 2022 Ren Yin or Water Tiger year brings to you.

2022 JI EARTH: TIME TO BE FRUITFUL

At first blush we see your Ren Water Wealth star (1) on the Heavenly Stems, producing your Bing Fire Officer star (2). This is indicative of hard work being acknowledge. Kind and giving, you frequently take on too much, a trait that could be detrimental to your own progress. Of the 10 Day Masters, the Wu Earth Day Master is rather renowned as the least pro-active. But in 2022, a special formation comes along designed to literally help you get on the move.

The Wu Earth Day Master’s reputation as a champion procrastinator is not completely deserved. Yes, you may not be the fastest of movers, but from the perspective of the Wu Earth, you will only move when everything (and I mean, every little detail) is in place. The rationale for this is simple – the Wu Earth Day Master is typically driven by the quest for safety and security.
