Every year has its own Bazi Chart, plotted to the exact minute when the Chart changes from one year pillar to another. Similarly, every month has its own Bazi Chart as well. This chart, can also tell a story, albeit within the span of a single month.

The story can be broad as to describe the energies influencing everyone, but at the same time, can be distilled into opportunities and threats for the individuals based on our Day Master. Consider it as tiny tweaks that we can deploy as we pursue our agenda for 2022.

THE STORY OF OCTOBER 2022

Let’s start with a quick overview. The month chart for October 2022 describes the need to embrace discipline in order to transform our lives. Effecting real change in our lives require discipline. From discarding old habits, to creating new and more positive ones. Implementing new ideas also require discipline. Even the creative endeavours require discipline. What happens when discipline falters? We fall off the wagon.

The focal point of the October 2022 Bazi Chart is the Geng Xu (庚戌) pillar. By itself, the Geng Xu is tough and carries a strong sense of resilience and endurance. It’s also quite an aggressive pillar.

From a pictorial point of view, this is a sword embedded into the rock. Yes, Excalibur! Wielding a sword requires strength, endurance, stamina, and (at the risk of sounding like a broken record), discipline!

But is this discipline welcome? Based on the October 2022 Bazi Chart, the answer is no. The weak Jia Wood Day Master in the Chart, will not enjoy the process of discipline. However, there may be some expenses that may not be serving you well anymore. The bottom line is to try to trim the costs so that you become more competitive in the marketplace. This suggestion, of course, is easiest to apply for business owners.

For career professionals, please don’t offer to reduce your salary! Look instead into how you spend your time at work to be more efficient and effective.

Yi Wood Day Masters: Take restrained action

From planting the seeds for 2023 in September, comes a need to sit down and take the time to plan out your next course of action. The Yi Wood Day Master, being a fast decision-maker, typically enjoys flying by the seat of your pants. However, for this one month at least, ‘crossing that bridge when you come to it’ is not going to fly.

Since the energy of the Geng Xu October month promotes the concept of taking disciplined measures and steps, why not use this opportunity to train your planning muscles?

Personal note: as a hiring manager for many years, I must admit that I hate looking at resumes. Because a resume tells me nothing. The candidate who can literally show me what he or she has accomplished, is the one who is going to get my attention.

Similarly for business owners, telling new customers that you work with X, Y or Z company is not enough. You need to show what you have accomplished for them.

This means that, for the Ding Fire, discipline comes in the form of words – your choice of words, to be specific. Trim down on the superlatives, focus on the results.

Learning to ask for help is one of the key skills to success. With the support of others, our journey to attaining our goals become smoother and less ‘rocky’ (all puns intended). Technically, for the Wu Earth Day Master, the Xu or Dog month is not your nobleman month. However, the presence of both your Output and Resource stars hints at the availability of ‘volunteers’. Or in modern pop culture… minions!

So look around you, Wu Earth. Having made yourself accessible in September, who are the people around you who can be your volunteers?

But circling back to the keyword of the month, what kind of discipline are we talking about for the Wu Earth? How about disciplining our sense of self-pride? When we are too proud to ask for help, then we must do everything ourselves and inadvertently limit the scale of our results.

Looking for a job? Get someone to make the introduction. Looking for a promotion or preparing for a job review? Get testimonials from your colleague. Want to increase sales? Get micro influencers who can help you sell your product or service. In other words, tap into other people’s networks.

SEPTEMBER 2022 BAZI FORECAST | IN SEARCH OF CLARITY

From a Chinese Metaphysics point of view, August 2022 was a month of transitions. With so many relationships in the month’s chart, it looked to be a natural turning point where the influences of the Water Tiger (壬寅) begins to fade and the energies of the Water Rabbit (癸卯) begins to grow in ascendance. As the volatile energies of August recede, the month of September comes in with new opportunities for each of the 10 Day Masters.

WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?

THE STORY OF SEPTEMBER 2022

The month Chart describes a feeling. Consider it in terms of market psychographics. These descriptions are easiest when applied to business and marketing. However, with a little bit of critical thinking, you can of course, apply it to other areas of your life as well.

Being a Ji You (己酉) month, of course the month pillar will take prominence. The Ji You is often visualized as dry and fine sand. Think of miles upon miles of sandy dunes in the desert with the sand often shifting and changing the landscape.

Still on the example of a desert, this fine sand is dry Earth which can absorb a lot of Water. But deserts do flood!

With the preponderance of Water in the September 2022 Bazi Chart, this Ji You is being inundated by Water. This muddy and murky Water is the absence of clarity. In layman terms, the decision-making process for many people will be governed by strong emotions. Could it be yours? Better yet, now that you know, what can you do to help them?

The strong Water energies is washing away the solidity of the Earth element. Like standing on shifting sands, what was once comfortably familiar has shifted. To stress an unstable environment even further, the Rat-Rooster Destruction could mean that the emotions governing the decision-making process is likely to be Fear bordering on Paranoia.

Recently, as I write this, the term ‘quiet quitting’ has been in the international news. It describes how people are ‘checking out’ quietly from their jobs by just doing the bare minimum to get paid. This is what happens when Earth is weak. Like literally, “stop telling me what to do!”.

There is also impatience in the Chart. People want to get to the core of the problem. With the Pig-Tiger struggling to combine and create Wood, suddenly, there will be a one-month push to find new and unconventional solutions.

In the presence of very weak Fire, hope seems to be hidden. Wet Wood trying to ignite Fire results in a smoggy and smoky Fire that contributes to the general confusion, disinformation, and misdirection. So out of desperation, why not just try ‘whatever’?!? That in essence, describes the story of September 2022. But again my question to you: what if you can be that ‘whatever’?

Again, I stress, this is the feeling conveyed by the September 2022 Bazi Chart. It does not have to happen to you!

THE POSSIBILITIES OF SEPTEMBER 2022

Opportunity rides on the tailwinds of adversity. At the surface, it sure seems like there is a lot of complaining going on. But with Metal playing the part of Resource, there is opportunity to cut through the nonsense and get to the core of the problem.

With the strong Water comes the possibility to go with the flow and assimilate into new communities. People, (while complaining), are looking for new information or perspectives. They are looking for clarity.

Herein lies the possibilities – if you can be the person to provide that clarity, then September is set to be a good month for you.

Gui Water Day Masters: Train Your People Radar

Of the 10 Heavenly Stems, the Gui Water is the most fluid, changeable, and sensitive to those around you. September 2022 is the perfect month to train your people radar. Beyond that, it’s a great month to flex your inherent abilities to affect the emotions and sentiments of those around you. Of course, in sharing this information, I’m hoping you will use this to the good and spread happy vibes (as opposed to causing more trauma!).

The only caution for the Gui Water Day Master? Don’t get sucked in! Gui Water mixing with Ji Earth literally creates sticky and clingy mud. Helping others feel better is great. But if you get sucked in, it will be hard for you to disengage.

Jia Wood Day Masters: Opportunity To Gently Shape Your Reputation

From the perspective of the Jia Wood Day Master, this Ji You (己酉) month is like clay that you can gently shape into what you want. Putty in your hands? Maybe! This ‘clay’ represents your reputation and authority.

Therefore, September 2022 presents you with the opportunity to gradually reform how others view and react to you! Be it in your professional or personal life, how can you change the way others respond to you?

Like the pottery maker in the sample photo, the clay takes the shape dictated by the hands that guides it. Therefore, the solution is by changing your responses as well. Or, by being aware of how you automatically react to any given circumstances.

But go gently, and go slowly. This ‘clay’ is still being moulded. Too much pressure could break it. There is no rushing this process.

If you are student, perhaps advice from your teachers. Or at the very minimum, study your competitors.

You see, Ding Fire Day Masters are resource-reliant. However, in September 2022, this wet Wood is difficult for Ding Fire to consume. Which means that relying on data alone is not practicable. You will need some peer feedback.

Of course, there is the negative flip to this – you can create effective smokescreens, if you want to. But that’s only for those who are feeling just a teensy-weensy bit evil right now. 😊

The Rob Wealth star has always been viewed negatively as one in which others rob you. Well, you can use it to rob others as well by learning from them.

Therefore, the September 2022 energies can be used in two ways for the Geng Metal:

Option 1: Attend talks where you learn from others

Option 2: Conduct classes and workshops where you teach (and at the same time, learn from your students/participants)

September being a Rooster month, of course the Xin Metal will have the heaviest responsibility. After all, you are the one who is in the Prosperous stage right now.

In the monthly scheme of the September 2022 Bazi Chart, the Xin Metal can take the role akin to a sieve. Help people filter the information to find the gold. (Or, as in my example, filter away the mud to reveal the fresh and juicy strawberries!)

Therefore, with that task ennobled to you, the first thing you must do is to learn to temper your own knee-jerk reactions. You are, after all, the filter of the month. If the filter stops filtering, then we’ll all drown in the mud.
