Sometimes, ideas come before their time. What may not have been practicable in the past, may be completely do-able now. Here’s how the Ding Fire Day Master can potentially use the energy of July 2024’s Xin Wei (辛未) month:

  1. Indirect Resource: Brings new perspective or even the prospects of new technology. What was once impossible, may be possible now.
  2. Friend: You are a different person now than you were back then. Leverage on your personal growth to date.
  3. Eating God: Adjust, transform, or simply breathe new life into your past endeavours.
  4. Indirect Wealth: Build on your existing or past work to accelerate progress and maximize your resources. In terms of relevance and timeliness, now may be a better time.

PERSONAL: REVISIT PAST INVESTMENTS

Do you have any old investments that you may forgotten about? Perhaps a matured insurance policy hanging about somewhere, waiting to be cashed out? Because the Indirect Wealth also governs profits, now would be a good time to revisit and re-strategize some of your old investments.

Remember how I said that the Bing Fire’s Direct Wealth is the valuable Xin Metal? Xin Metal has to be polished. It needs to shine. Therefore, in July 2024, here’s a chance to put some focus on polishing your work.

Bing Fire Day Masters are absolutely going to hate me for this! Most Bing Fires are big-picture thinkers. Details are so beneath us! But in a month where you get the chance to make your work even more valuable, getting into the nitty-gritty will be necessary.

  1. Direct Resource: Get into the small details. Check for small errors and typos that may ‘mar’ the perfection of your work.
  2. Rob Wealth: Seek constructive feedback to improve.
  3. Hurting Officer: Improve on the design, cohesion, and presentation of your work.
  4. Direct Wealth: Set benchmarks, targets, KPIs to quantify the impact of your work.

PERSONAL: CASH FLOW MANAGEMENT

  1. Friend and Eating God – use the support of these stars to crowdsource and spark new ideas. Ideas that can help you out-innovate your competitors.
  2. Indirect Wealth and 7 Killings – start nurturing your future market by gaining a toe-hold into the new sector. In other words, start putting some skin into the game.

BUSINESS: HELLO, GUERILLA TACTICS!

There is, however, another more direct method to use your 7 Killings month. A Xin Metal 7 Killings going up against a Jia Wood Rob Wealth is akin to launching multiple small attacks on multiple fronts against a larger enemy. This is not a direct confrontation. Instead, it’s about irritating stings that could distract your competitors. It needs the Yi Wood Day Master to be at its best – agile!

After all, with limited Water in the July 2024 Bazi Chart, the Yi Wood has to do its best to prevent your Jia Wood competitors from sucking up all that precious resource.

In June 2024’s Geng Wu (庚午) month, the Jia Wood Day Master had the chance to clear off some of the competition, to leave yourselves with some room to play and grow. Assuming that you have launched something in June, now the hard work begins. In July’s Xin Wei (辛未), as your Direct Officer comes paired with your Direct Wealth, you need to put your money where your mouth is and deliver what you’ve promised.

BUSINESS, CAREER AND PERSONAL: DO OR DIE

The Jia Wood Day Master may have cleared off a patch of empty land for more growth, but there is no denying that, from the perspective of the Jia Wood, July 2024’s Xin Wei month is looking very much like a barren piece of land. From a pictorial perspective, it looks like a tree trying to grow in a hostile environment with limited resources. Hence, the lessons in adaptability.

Which means that, in July, the Jia Wood Day Master will need to deliver, in spite of any limitations to your resources. To do that, you first need to be the best in your niche:

  1. Rob Wealth – Community and interdependence. Tap into the support networks you have created – family, friends, colleagues, neighbours – to seek for cooperation and support.
  2. Hurting Officer – Agility and competitiveness.  Plug into your Hurting Officer’s innate agility to react fast to changing circumstances, and let the Hurting Officer’s natural competitive streak to prove everyone else wrong motivate you.
  3. Direct Wealth – Sustainability. Be a good steward of your resource – whether it is water, time, energy or even emotions. Deliver what matters first. The frills can wait.
  4. Direct Officer – Discipline and structure. No doubt about it. A lot of discipline is called for in July. Just know that all these efforts will surely pay off in the end.

After an action-packed month in June, July’s Xin Wei (辛未) is preparing the Gui Water Day Master for the next evolution. With your receptivity enhanced by your Indirect Resource month, it’s a good month to plug into the universe to download some fresh, new, amazing ideas! 

BUSINESS, CAREER AND PERSONAL : WHAT’S YOUR NEXT MOVE?

In our daily rush, sometimes it’s all too easy to forget to plan ahead. July’s Xin Wei is giving you exactly this opportunity. The reminder to pause for a moment and ask yourself, “What’s my next move?”

While you can do this solo, you can also use your Indirect Resource to brainstorm with others and gather diverse opinions as well. We never know who’s going to come up with a brainwave, do we?

But because this Indirect Resource is sitting on the7 Killings, using exercise to meditate (like walking meditations), may be the trigger that kicks off the chain of ideas. There are plenty of good in walking meditations – enhanced observation skills, improves blood sugar levels, circulation, blood flow, and with more blood flowing to the brain… mental clarity and focus!

Some people throttle their potential by refusing to think “what if?” and ignoring what’s truly important to them in life. You have to start dreaming before you can achieve anything.

BUSINESS: EXPERIENTIAL MARKETING

But for business owners, the market doesn’t stop for you to take a walking meditation. So here’s another way to use the Indirect Resource sitting on 7 Killings. Experiential marketing (which is just a fancy word for factory visits 😊).

Essentially, creating an experience around your product or service. Allowing your clients to create a tactile or emotional experience. Lame jokes about factory visits aside, this could happen in the form of sampling, pop up stores, live events, or even, if you have a gazillion marketing bucks in your armoury, augmented reality or the metaverse!

In fact, this would mesh in very well with the June strategy, which was to focus on myth-busting. After we bust the myth, we need to make the facts sticky. What could be more sticky than allowing people to experience it for themselves?

JULY XIN METAL DAY MASTER: WHO DO YOU SEE IN THE MIRROR?

Following an all-out month in June, July would be an apt time for the Xin Metal Day Master to do a quick self-check. How has 2024’s Direct Wealth year influenced you? Has it enhanced you? Changed you for the better? Who do you see now when you look into the mirror?

Xin Metal Day Masters tend to put a high (perhaps even disproportionate) weightage on respect and admiration. Used with awareness, this trait helps Xin Metal Day Masters power their way to the top of their game. But without awareness, this ‘sensitivity’ towards perceived slights, insults, and other miscellaneous injuries, can be a form of self-sabotage.

JULY 2024 | BUSINESS: AUTHENTICITY. YOUR MARKETING IS A REFLECTION OF WHO YOU ARE

What is marketing? After all the marketing courses and workshops has been registered and attended, the core of marketing is our efforts to communicate our message to our target audience. This message attempts to communicate the value our businesses offer. This value springs from our experience and beliefs. Therefore, marketing is actually a reflection of who we are as individuals and as business owners.

Whether you run a small solo-proprietor business, or a billion-dollar conglomerate, your marketing is an external manifestation of your identity. Frequently, guided by externally driven marketing ideas, we tailor our marketing efforts to what we think people want to see. But what people want to see, may not be who we really are and the type of value we really want to bring to the market. While not so much of a problem where actual physical products are concerned, this ‘gap’ between how you market and who you really are can be glaring if you are providing a service.

Which leads us to the Period 9 buzzword: Authenticity.  Even more important now in the age of ChatGPT. Don’t get me wrong. The generative rise of AI is heaven-sent for the busy business owner. It saves so much time. But over-reliance on AI copywriting robs you of your voice. Ever noticed how almost everyone’s social media posts these days sound exactly the same these days?

July’s Xin Wei month is encouraging you to take a moment to reflect on the authenticity of your business practices. What are your values? What type of consumers or customers would share that value? A Weak Xin Metal Day Master sees the support of another Xin Metal in the month (in fact, a Fu Yin of the same pillar). However, this Xin Metal is unrooted, albeit supported by the Indirect Resource.

The Weak Day Master meeting an equally weak Wealth star suggests a mindset of ‘convenience’. Many people may be looking into easy ways to make money – falling for shortcuts, get-rich-quick schemes, and other easy ways to get fast money.

The predominance of the Indirect Resource in this chart, while supportive of the Day Master, creates impracticality, flights of fancy, and even increases the risk of mental health issues.

A positive way to twist this Chart to the positive is to put a little more focus on mental wellbeing for a month. The double Xin Wei pillars (Fu Yin) also encourages some form of self-reflection.

Be careful who you associate with this month. A carelessly said word could cause unnecessary problems. You  may find yourself inadvertently offending others through sheer thoughtlessness. Diplomacy required.

Southwest (9 – 7):

Excellent sector for branding, recognition, and expanding your professional and social network. Also great combination for those who work with multiple parties or joint ventures.

West (5 – 3):

Keep an eye on your budget this month. The 5-3 combination can cause a lack of spending control, speculation and sometimes even tendencies to gamble recklessly.

Northwest (4 – 2):

Good sector to use if you are in the market for property investments. Also a good month for those seeking to enhance your financial knowledge.

JUNE JI EARTH DAY MASTER: DARE TO BE DIFFERENT

In May 2024, one of the suggested strategies for the Ji Earth Day Master was to acquire more resources. The end goal was to create an uptick in self-confidence. We are going to need that self-confidence in June 2024’s Geng Wu (庚午) month. Because in June, we are going against the grain.

BUSINESS: BE CONTRARY IN YOUR MARKETING

If you are a business owner, a Hurting Officer month is always a month to go big with your marketing efforts. Challenge the status quo, push the envelope, do something that nobody else is doing.

Because this Hurting Officer month is supported by your Indirect Resource, do remember that you must be able to back up your claims with supported data, research or case studies. It’s not always about being contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian. But in general, because the Hurting Officer adores the limelight, be provocative, be unexpected, be spontaneous, delight us with something surprising.

CAREER AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: GET TRIGGERED (BUT IN A GOOD WAY)

When your Hurting Officer clashes against the Direct Officer, arguments ensue. At least, that’s the conservative interpretation of Bazi. But why is that? Because the Hurting Officer likes to be unrestrained, while the Direct Officer represents constrain. But we do have human agency, don’t we? Knowing this now, we can school our words to avoid arguments, can’t we?

Here’s the better potential for a month when your Hurting Officer counters your Direct Officer. It’s a good month to get triggered in a good way. Sometimes, we need negative triggers to spur us into action. Like getting dared to do something. With awareness, these types of negative triggers can push us to prove that we can, and by doing so, become better.

Someone once told me that I will NEVER succeed at becoming self employed. Never! That my destiny in life was to serve others and help others achieve success, and by doing so, hope to have some modicum of financial compensation for myself. Words cannot describe the rage I felt when I heard that. But instead of arguing, I channelled that rage into long hours of working on my own brand. Today, thanks to that trigger, guess what… I became self-employed!

A mountain with a big fiery sword is an awe-inspiring sight. Impossible to ignore. When a mountain rises up, trees get uprooted. In this case, the trees represent your 7 Killings. Note that the key word is uprooted!

Wu Earth Day Masters tend bear the weight of problems for a long time. Like trees growing on a hill. And then a clash year happens, the mountain rises up, and the trees get uprooted. Therefore, the Wu Earth’s way of dealing with problems is to first ignore, and then when instigated into action, will literally resolve the obstacles at the root cause.

So for the Wu Earth Day Master, in a month where your Eating God counters your 7 Killings, here’s your chance to identify one obstacle that you want to remove once and for all. Is it for business, career, or personal development? Is it wealth, health or relationships? Because this is a month’s energy, you only need to work on one obstacle.
