#4 DING MAO (丁卯): THE GIFT OF INSPIRATION

A scented candle that brings light, warmth and romance to the dark. A single candle that can light a million others. This is the Ding Mao (丁卯) pillar. The most beautiful of all the Ding Fire Day Masters, you, my friend, are the inspiration.

DING MAO (丁卯): OVERVIEW

The Ding Fire is known as the leadership star among the 10 Heavenly Stems. Why? Because it is the only element that can transform the others. Think about it. It can evaporate water, mold metal, incinerate wood and harden earth.

In the case of the Ding Mao, the qualities of the Ding Fire manifests as a inventive, progressive, and original mind. In other words, you are someone who is always ahead of your times.

Additionally, the Ding Mao has the natural gift for words. You understand that words have power and with that gift, comes the ability to convey or express your ideas in a very clear and concise manner.

DING MAO (丁卯): STRENGTHS

Seated on the Mao branch, while there may only be a single Hidden Stem, but this Mao Branch holds three functions for the Ding Fire Day Master. It represents resource, it is a Nobleman star, as well as a Peach Blossom Star. So check one for a love for learning and intelligence; check two for having support from helpful people in your life; and check three for the likability factor! Wow! Talk about a three-in-one package deal!

Let’s break it down a little further by examining the Yi Wood that is supporting this Ding Fire. In this case, it represents your ability to acquire, absorb and process knowledge from diverse sources. Talk about an Intellectual Powerhouse!

This Yi Wood also gives you your people-person persona – it represents your ability to network and build new connections. So when we look at this pillar as a whole, basically, what we have is someone who is able to spot opportunities, think fast, act fast, understands the first mover’s advantage, and basically, a pioneer!

WEAKNESSES

On the flip side of the pillar, let’s explore a little about the Ding Mao’s weaknesses. Because this pillar is such an intellectual powerhouse, it hates mundane and repetitive tasks. The Ding Mao is easily bored so this pillar needs constant stimulation. But you know, I don’t really see this as a weakness. So what if you hate repetitive tasks? Get someone else to do it for you!

More seriously, do beware your perfectionist streak. It’s fine to be a perfectionist but not if this perfectionism leads to inner doubt, conflict and starts chipping away at your self-confidence.

DING MAO (丁卯), BUT BETTER

So how can we make this Ding Mao better? I have a few suggestions:

  1. Stay positive! Create an environment that is supportive of your goals
  2. Explore using spiritual enlightenment to achieve inner peace
  3. Learn how to be diplomatic and hone one your listening skills – to become someone who not just easily talks to people, but to whom people like to talk to

Most of all, Ding Mao, what I want you to know is that with the right environment and faith in your own talents, your potential is literally boundless!

As always, a final caveat. Without the ability to see the full chart, I must stress that the suggestions in this article are broad recommendations based on a single pillar.

#3 BING YIN (丙寅): THE GIFT OF EMPOWERMENT

In the study of Bazi, the Tiger marks the coming of spring. The Bing Yin (丙寅) pillar evokes the imagery of the warm and crisp spring sunlight shining over a lush forest. As the sun melts away the last of the frost, the silver new leaves turn their faces to the life-giving sun, growing lush and full again. The sun doesn’t come down to earth to help with the spring planting. It just creates the environment for life to begin anew. That is why, the Bing Yin pillar is empowering.

BING YIN (丙寅): OVERVIEW

The Bing Yin Day Master embodies the spirit of hope through the sheer force of your personality, confidence, keen intelligence and creativity. Equipped with a fertile imagination, you are ably aided by an inventive, analytical and active mind that constantly needs to be challenged.

At your best, you are a self-confident and independent person with a warm and generous heart. A strong moral code and a keen sense of justice is extremely important to you. These values are something that you will never compromise on.

BING YIN (丙寅): STRENGTHS

Like all Bing Fire Day Masters, you the Bing Yin, is bound to be warm and generous. But let’s examine each element in this pillar and see what they bring to you.

First thing we see is a Rooted Day Master, supported by its own resource.  This symbolizes a self-confident, independent and persistent personality.

If we imagine the Bing Yin as the sun shining over a forest, this evokes a feeling of farsightedness, of being able to take the long view… and you got it, it makes you great at Big Picture thinking.

The Bing Yin has a bit of a FOMO tendencies when it comes to technology. You love gadgets, don’t you? The Bing Yin has my vote for being the pillar most likely to own the latest iPhone!

Seated on a Jia Wood resource star brings a growth mindset that likes to be stretched and challenged! This is where your superior reasoning powers and keen sense of perception comes from.

Additionally, this growth mindset is accompanied by a Wu Earth EG that endows you with a fertile imagination that is always drawn to new ideas.

When we put these elements together, it means that you use your strong sixth sense to empower people by creating solutions that truly resolves their real issues or problems.

HOW THE BING YIN (丙寅) PRESENTS: FORCEFUL PERSONALITY

Sometimes, just being aware of the impression we give other people can be quite important. We don’t need to necessarily ‘fix’ it, but just knowing the kind of impression would make life a heck of a lot easier.

So this is what I want you to be aware of.

The Bing Yin has a rather forceful personality. Basically, the sun is going to shine on you, whether you like it or not. Charming and charismatic, a Bing Yin loves a good debate.

If this is a problem, then take it down a notch or so. If this is not a problem for you, if you are rocking this forceful personality… then by all means carry on!

WEAKNESS: EMOTIONAL ROLLER-COASTER

Everything in this pillar begins with this Jia Wood IR, which in this case, has no support. What does that mean? It means that behind this bright mask, hides a vulnerable and sensitive core.

The Bing Yin can be prone to extreme emotional highs and lows which could actually lead to self-destructive behaviour.

Sometimes, certain Bing Yin Day Masters may even use extravagant lifestyles to fill that void, to try to stabilize their emotions. Instead of doing that, may I offer you some suggestions on how to be Bing Yin, but better!

BING YIN (丙寅), BUT BETTER: SELF-LOVE

The above characteristics combine put you, the Bing Yin Day Master, in a unique position, not just to empower yourself, but others as well. Empowerment is described as the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s right. However, you can only give what you already have.

Here are five tips on how to empower yourself:

  1. Ground yourself. For the Bing Yin Day Master, your home is your safe place to retreat. This is where you find emotional peace. Beneath the Bing Yin’s bright and sunny exterior, hides a vulnerable soul that can be prone to running on extreme highs and lows. As you give so much of yourself at work, make sure that your home affords you the time and space you need to regain your equilibrium.
  2. Focus on issues that speak to your heart. There will always be a gazillion and one thing to fix. But being human, we can’t deal with them all. So bend your creativity towards the issues that bother you the most.
  3. Plan ahead to avoid becoming overwhelmed. The Bing Yin tends to become overwhelmed when you don’t plan ahead. At times like these, you risk becoming distracted and may even lose heart too quickly.
  4. Practice self-compassion. Bing Fire Day Masters are always magnanimous and giving. But they hold themselves to high standards. Treat yourself as you would treat others to drown out that negative, nagging, critical voice.
  5. Take care of yourself. While this last tip may seem so simplistic, some people really do need to be reminded that they need to care of themselves as well. A Bing Yin could be so busy taking care of others that they end up neglecting their own needs.

As always, a final caveat. Without the ability to see the full chart, I must stress that the suggestions in this article are broad recommendations based on a single pillar.

#2 YI CHOU (乙丑): THE GIFT OF RESILIENCE

Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the global economy, the word ‘Resilience’ has been chucked around like so much confetti at a cancelled wedding. Just google the word and you will find at least 100 web posts vying to teach you how to be more resilient. This is not one of them. Instead, let’s talk about…

YI CHOU (乙丑): THE RESILIENCE DNA

What exactly is resilience? In a nutshell, it’s the rubber-ball effect. It represents the ability to adapt and bounce back from adversity. Of course, it’s a good trait to have as it helps you learn and adapt to changing conditions in pursuit of your goal.

Now, imagine this with me. Winter is coming to an end. The snow still lies thick on the ground, soft, melting snow. Here and there, tiny little hardy green shrubs are poking their early leaves through the ground. As we continue wandering the last of the winter wonderland together, we stumble upon a rare sight – a low-growing shrub of bright orange pansies in full bloom, their velvety colours a burst of sunshine against the pristine white snow. It has not just survived the winter, but thrived. How hardy does this plant need to be?

This is the same spirit of resilience represented by the Yi Chou (乙丑) pillar.

YI CHOU (乙丑): OVERVIEW

First thing you need to know – this pillar is known as one of the Six Elegant Days, which means that the Day Master is usually attractive, intelligent and elegant. Along with these traits come oodles and oodles of charm and energy. You are lively, assertive and persuasive!

Like how plants crave the sunlight, so does the Yi Chou naturally crave the limelight. Therefore, fame and money would tend to be a big part of your internal motivation. I’m not being ‘judgey’! So you like being in the limelight, what’s wrong with that?

Now that we’ve give the Yi Chou a quick run through, let’s talk about your strengths next!

STRENGTHS: PERSUASIVE

One of the Yi Chou’s biggest strength is your ability to convince others to see things your way. You are able to see yourself within the grand scheme of things and the combination right here of the resourceful Ji Earth, the ability to act quickly of the Xin Metal and the excellent insights of the Gui Water is where your persuasive skills come from.

When you tap into this… because in a way, this Yi Chou pillar can also represent as a pillar of untapped potential (we’ll get into that later)… but what I want you to know right now is that when you tap into this –you have the resourceful ability to spot opportunities, the willpower to take action, and the insights to create the right strategies for success.

WEAKNESS: EXTERNAL VALIDATION

When we look into the cycle of this single pillar, we see  (1) the Ji Earth producing the  (2) Xin Metal which then produces the (3) Gui Water and finally produces the Yi Wood Day Master. Which is great, because this Day Master is being produced.

However, this Yi Wood Day Master has no roots. What does that mean? It means you are so busy seeking for external validation that you have forgotten that if you just sink your roots down, look inwards, and you will find a lot of potential waiting to be used. That is why I say that this pillar can also be seen as a pillar of untapped potential.

Also because of this formation, the  Yi Chou pillar has the tendency to display a liking for instant gratification.

So… what to do?

YI CHOU (乙丑), BUT BETTER: YOUR BIG WHY

To become really extraordinary, the Yi Chou must find out what truly inspires them. If the cause, goal, or as we call it now, the Big Why, is compelling enough, you will dig deep to find the mental discipline needed to counter your preference for the easy route. Frequently, until the Big Why is found, the Yi Chou may never truly understand your full potential.

In the case of the Yi Chou, and I cannot emphasize this enough… the MINDSET determines the OUTCOME!

As always, a final caveat. Without the ability to see the full chart, I must stress that the suggestions in this article are broad recommendations based on a single pillar.

#1 JIA ZI (甲子)/WOOD RAT: THE GIFT OF KNOWLEDGE

Every time I see the 甲子 (Jia Zi) or Wood Rat pillar, I think of a pine tree in winter. Seriously! A tall and lush evergreen standing on pristine white snow. As pretty as the picture may be, this is a pretty harsh environment for a tree to grow, let alone thrive!

This calls to mind an individual who stands tall in defiance of their challenging surroundings. They hold their ground, they never back down. This is a pretty formidable pillar. Really! Albeit, those born in the Summer months will tend to be a little ‘sunnier’ than their Winter counterparts. But formidable is as formidable does.

Regardless of the season of birth, this is undoubted a sturdy, stable and grounded individual. You are never frivolous and the Jia Zi Day masters are usually straight talkers. You say what you mean, and mean what you say. While you risk coming across as blunt, you also gain trust! Because people know that you will always deliver on a promise.

What the Jia Zi does not like, are big sudden changes or upheavals. From the perspective of the Jia Zi, growth should be slow but inevitable. Surprises and setbacks can be distressing for you. Too many surprises and setbacks in a row can even lead to a loss of self-confidence.

But just because you don’t like sudden change doesn’t mean that you can’t handle it. For the Jia Zi, no challenge is too big. Why? Because you are rooted in your own resource. Let’s talk about that…

JIA ZI (甲子)/WOOD RAT STRENGTHS: KNOWLEDGE

When we look at the technical aspect of the Jia Zi, this Jia Wood Day Master is seated solely on its Resource star. This is what we mean by the term ‘rooted in your own resource’. Translated into non-technical language, this simply means a very resourceful person who is strong-willed and independent.

Rooted in your own resource also reflects a progressive individual who is constantly learning and growing. If you look at the pillar, this Jia Wood is constantly being produced by its Gui Water resource. As long as the learning never stops, a Jia Zi Day Master will always be at his or her best. An intellectual giant! A thought leader who is very steady and down-to-earth.

This resource star is also what brings you your meticulous, hard-working, perseverant and disciplined nature.

Additionally, this Jia Wood Day Master is also seated on the Bath position in the 12 Growth Phases. This position gives you plenty of drive and forward vision. Like a tree turning a single drop of water into branches, leaves, flowers and fruits, the Jia Zi Day Master is one who can multi-task effortlessly.

JIA ZI (甲子)/WOOD RAT WEAKNESS: THE CURSE OF KNOWLEDGE

However, this superior intellect can sometimes come with its own set of problems. Having grown to such lofty heights, not many people can be your intellectual equal. Learning a little flexibility, consciously cultivating the ability to sway with the wind, will help smoothen your journey in life. After all, why make things unnecessarily difficult for yourself?

The next thing I want you to know is that while the Rat has brought you plenty of blessings, the branch’s restless energy can become a weakness. This restlessness of the Rat may cause perpetual discontent or a tendency to leave things half-done when you are bored. There is no ‘fix’ to this, just an awareness of this trait will help you to dig deep and call upon the more disciplined side of your nature.

Most of all, beware the curse of knowledge. In Bazi, Water represents thoughts and emotions. When there is too much Water, this Jia Zi pillar has a tendency to over-think. You may find yourself overwhelmed by thougths and emotions.

But is there a solution? Of course!

JIA ZI, BUT BETTER: SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE

Becoming a better Jia Zi is super-easy.  You have all this knowledge producing you. Share the knowledge! That’s how we ‘disperse’ the water. Become the new buzzword of the present era, an Infopreneur.

Here’s the great thing about teaching or sharing information. It helps you filter the stuff in your head. Like what I’m doing now, I had to distill all that I know about this Jia Zi, and figure out a way to present it to you in a way that makes sense. In that journey, I too become better.

So if you are a Jia Zi Day Master, it’s time to start that blog, create your YouTube videos, organize your Facebook live sharing, share that lifetime of learning so that others may benefit.

BAZI DAY MASTERS #10: FREEDOM LOVING GUI (癸) WATER

Elusive, impossible to pin down, infinitely changeable, the Gui Water Day Master can best be characterized as someone who is intellectually fluid. The Yin counterpart of Ren Water, this element is usually presented as the mists that shroud the mountains, the clouds that change their shape with every puff of wind, the sudden drizzles that creates rainbows.

Amorphous is probably the best word to describe the creative and ever-imaginative Gui Water individual. They are always intellectually inclined, their agile minds thinking of a million and one things all at the same time. The problem is, these thoughts are usually free-flowing. The Gui Water who learns to channel and focus those thoughts and ideas will be truly successful.

The Gui Water Day Masters are not without their weaknesses, though. Like the formless water they represent, Gui Water people are often extremely fickle and lack sustaining power when it comes to pushing a major project through. It is common to find Gui Water individuals going through several different careers in the span of their working years.

Gui Water individuals are all about freedom.

Unhappy is the Gui Water who is tied down to a strict schedule or routine work. In business or in their careers, Gui Water individuals must choose a field where they enjoy a lot of flexibility, preferably without the need to worry about the nitty-gritty.

Gui Water Day Masters will also enjoy roles where they can use their subtle influence to draw out the best in others. Imagine life-giving rain sprinkling down on the arid ground to create new plants. The Gui Water’s idealistic nature shines at its brightest when it can be used to cultivate others. In this, the Gui Water’s approach to business is always driven by passion. The moment a Gui Water person discovers that one passion that is aligned with his or her inner values, that is the moment when things start happening.

To have the best chance of success, the Gui Water urgently needs to create a strong support system where they can leverage on the strength of others. No doubt, the Gui Water individual can be extremely productive working on their own passion projects but they will always need a team behind them to cross the finish line. This way, the Gui Water can focus on what they do best, creating value out of their ideas.

The Gui Water is particularly susceptible to boredom, their lives can be littered with a string of unfinished projects abandoned after the heat of initial passion is over. To overcome this, it is best that the Gui Water breaks down their goals into as many mini projects as possible. This tactic may help overcome the Gui Water’s distaste for routine.

BAZI DAY MASTERS #9: A FORCE OF NATURE, REN (壬) WATER

Have you ever tried to stop the waves? Impossible, right? That’s exactly what the Ren Water is. Unstoppable, indomitable, intelligent and resourceful. In fact, they are so damned close to perfect that sometimes it is hard not to be envious of their many advantages.

In the study of Bazi, the Ren Water is perceived as the roaring waves of the sea, the deep waters of the oceans and the constant currents of the river. Water will always find a way around obstacles. Think of a river flowing effortlessly past rocks and boulders. Ren Water individuals handle hurdles the same way, always with tact and diplomacy. They find a way around the obstruction instead of smashing their way through.

Some Day Masters are good at big-picture thinking. Others are masters of the minutiae. The Ren Water, can do both at the same time! Like the resourceful ocean, Ren Water individuals are highly intelligent. They can work on small details while keeping a bigger picture in mind.

The Ren Water are born entrepreneurs.

In fact, I’m not sure why I’m writing this post. Perhaps just to keep the series intact (OCD, much?). The Ren Water individual probably already runs his or her own business born out of their unique vision.

Ren Water Day Masters will thrive where precise, organized and structured thinking is required. Perhaps that is why so many successful Ren Water individuals are to be found in the IT business. Their highly compartmentalized brain is a huge asset where they can call up the outstanding amounts of information they hold in their memory.

Ren Water individuals are progressive thinkers and visionary business leaders who are able to think far ahead into the future. They are also the only Yang Day Masters with a natural ability to make good connections. Knowing the right people also forms a part of their resourcefulness.

The only thing that can stop a Ren Water is their own tendency to over-analyze. They can easily think themselves out of doing something. The Ren Water needs to be mindful of this and set their own cut-off point for when the thinking stops and the action starts.

BAZI DAY MASTERS #8: ALL THAT GLITTERS IS XIN (辛) METAL

The Xin Metal is the polar opposite of its Yang counterpart, the Geng. Where Geng is tough, Xin is delicate. Where Geng represents raw talent, Xin is beautifully crafted. That is why the Xin Metal is always likened to precious jewellery or antiques – valuable but fragile.

Xin Metal individuals are easily recognized. They are never scruffy, always well-dressed and well-presented. There is an innate elegance in them that loves the best that life has to offer.

Think of a gold ring adorned with a flawless diamond. Think about how your eyes are naturally captivated by its radiance and multi-faceted beauty. Similarly, Xin Metal individuals can command attention and adores being in the spotlight.

Xin Metal is all about leverage.

In the business of life, Xin Metal individuals are exceptionally creative and mentally agile. They are usually the ones with distinctive ideas and the confidence, skill, talent and wit to make the ideas sound convincing.

When it comes to their choice of career, the Xin Metal will always be driven to develop their own special skills. Ideally, the career should involve something precise, bespoke and of course, unique. Once developed, the Xin Metal will never keep their special skill hidden from the world.

A very common weakness for the Xin Metal is the inability to carry out the actions required to turn their outlandish ideas into reality. In other words, you can go to the Xin Metal when you need sharp ideas but they are not very reliable when it comes to getting the job done. Xin Metal individuals are more effective when they can leverage on the strengths of others. For this same reason, Xin Metals venturing into the business world for the first time will feel safer in partnerships.

The Xin Metal Day Master will be at his or her best in the business of selling ideas or influence as opposed to actual products or services. This way, they can bank on their individuality, unique vision and strategic networking abilities.

Therefore, the key to a Xin Metal individual’s success is his or her ability to build good relationships with as large a network as possible. The support and goodwill of others is the main leveraging factor for the Xin Metal.

BAZI DAY MASTERS #7: THE ORIGINAL NUTCRACKER, GENG (庚) METAL

Geng Metal is aggressive, extremely hard and tough. It is often compared to unforged iron ore, raw metal or more popularly, a sharp and powerful sword. For iron to be useful, it needs to be forged by fire. Similarly, Geng Metal individuals are tough souls who can endure any kind of hardship and will emerge the better for it.

Action-driven, solid and persevering, these people have the innate drive to triumph against all odds. Within them lives a do-or-die attitude that will never admit defeat. Even when others around them have thrown in the towel and gone home, you can expect the Geng Metal to keep soldiering on.

These individuals will frequently appear cool and aloof on the outside. When their emotional equilibrium is balanced, their thought process is systematic and methodical. But watch out when the Geng Metal gets all fired up! In fighting mode, rage takes control and they may find it hard to remain detached. This strong fighting spirit which is such a boon for the Geng Metal becomes a bane when emotions cloud rationality.

Geng Metal always wants to win.

They love a good challenge and always want to be the first across the finish line. This enduring nature becomes a strength in their careers when the Geng Metal chooses a hard nut to crack. Go for something challenging that not everyone can handle. Something that requires endurance and dogged determination, with room for autonomy and minimal office politics. If it’s one thing the Geng Metal will not tolerate, it’s power games within the office.

Being an independent business owner will also appeal to the Geng Metal. If a partnership or joint venture is necessary, the Geng Metal’s partners should ideally be silent partners or clear boundaries of responsibilities have been drawn right from the start. Geng Metal individuals will find it hard to relinquish control.

To operate at their best, it is always advisable for the Geng Metal to map out their battle plan before the fighting starts. Clarity is power for the Geng Metal. To be at their most effective, they must first figure out what their objectives are and how to get there. Without this battle plan, the Geng Metal can be like an aimless sword slicing at thin air.

BAZI DAY MASTERS #6: IN THE LIVE SCORE FOR RESOURCEFULNESS, JI (己) EARTH RANKS #1

Pliable and adjustable, the Ji Earth individual is the most tolerant and lenient of the 10 Day Masters. Highly adaptable, Ji Earth Day Masters have no problem coping with different situations and circumstances. This is the bunch that will instinctively make lemonade when life gives them lemons.

Ji Earth personalities are nurturing and accommodating by nature. In many organizations, they are often the one people run to for help when things start to go awry. As leaders, Ji Earth managers will tend to be very protective of their subordinates, always on the lookout for their well being and won’t be the type of leader who throws their team members under the proverbial bus. At the same time, Ji Earth managers require a large dose of autonomy before they can operate at their best.

The Ji Earth’s first instinct is to serve.

For a variety of reasons, the ideal outcome for the Ji Earth Day Master is to form their own business.  First, of course, it is easier to follow your own principles and beliefs when you are the boss. Doing things that run counter to their beliefs is an absolute no-no for the Ji Earth.

Secondly, the Ji Earth individual has the ability to automatically bring people who share their same beliefs and values into their circle of influence. These friends also become their customers.

Finally, a business that serves a greater good and is aligned with your interests and passions, will be the ultimate motivator for the caring and nurturing Ji Earth.

Ji Earth individuals should also consider leveraging on their resourceful nature into a sound business plan. They always know where to get the right help, at the right price for the right people. The problem is, the Ji Earth does this so naturally that they take it for granted. It’s high time they recognize this resourcefulness as a part of their own self-worth and learn to bank on these resourceful traits to help them get ahead.

While the Wu Earth procrastinates, the Ji Earth’s number one problem is that they often need other people to work on them before they can produce anything. Therefore, Ji Earth Day Masters rarely become independent business owners. They prefer strength in numbers and tend to like partnership and joint ventures where they can feel more secure. If this is what it takes for you to get started, be sure to choose the right partners who will also pull their fair share of the weight.

BAZI DAY MASTERS #5: ROCK SOLID, WU (戊) EARTH

Think of a mountain and the characteristics associated with it. It is a towering presence, mysterious, solid and unmoving. Similarly, Wu Earth individuals will project the same sense of stability and safety.

They are rarely mercurial or unreliable. Wu Earth people don’t reveal their thoughts or feelings easily and can give off the vague feeling of being enigmatic and reserved. Most importantly, Wu Earth, like the mountain, is self-defining. They don’t care what other people think about them. What they perceive is the most important.

In this respect, Wu Earth does not separate reason from emotion when it comes to their thinking process. Every situation is weighed against how they feel or their own interpretation of moral principles. This is something that the Wu Earth must be mindful about.

Wu Earth is immovable.

The mountain doesn’t go to anyone. Instead, people flock to the mountain. In terms of career, Wu Earth must be able to turn this sense of safety into their primary asset. The key word is trust. As an employee, your employer must be able to trust that you can bring stability into an unstable situation. As a freelancer or in terms of your second career, your service or product must bring about a feeling of safety and security for your clients. Wood brings growth, Fire brings hope, you, Wu Earth, is all about stability.

Think of it this way, when someone falls into a river, they may try to cling to branches or vines, but those could break. The best thing to prevent from being swept away is to try to cling on to a boulder. That boulder, which the Wu Earth also represents, is the rock that people cling to in times of turmoil.

Wu Earth individuals are self-generating. Highly self-sufficient, they able to cultivate their own talent and achieve success on their own. However, Wu Earth will not enjoy ‘talky’ roles. Those are best left to the chattier day masters. In that respect, building up a reputation of being an expert in their field will be best for the Wu Earth. A position where people come to you for solutions instead of you going out to the market to try to hawk your services.

The Wu Earth’s biggest weakness is their ability to turn procrastination into an artform. Usually, this is done in the name of laying the groundwork. Wu Earth individuals will not be comfortable moving until their plans are perfected. While this is good, too much perfectionism in planning can lead to missed opportunities. But when the mountain decides to move… watch out world!
