For the Ji Earth Day Master, the 2024 Year of the Wood Dragon or Jia Chen, comes bearing gifts of authority, leadership and reputation. In this post, I outline the broad level strategies that can be derived from the arrival of this Annual Pillar, in the all important first year of Period 9.
DIRECT OFFICER YEAR: THE OUTCOME OF MY PRODUCTIVITY AND RESOURCEFULNESS
In Bazi, the Ji Earth is visualized as a fertile plot of land. Hence, Ji Earth Day Masters are often described as productive and resourceful.
Along comes the 2024 Jia Chen (甲辰) or Wood Dragon, plonking a tree right on your land.
The energies are almost saying, “Look everyone! This is what my land can grow. Here is the outcome of my productivity and resourcefulness. See how lush and beautiful this tree is? There’s room for more!”
In essence this tree represents a visual testament to your skills, talents and abilities. So how do we apply this scenario into real world strategies?
THE FLAGSHIP EFFECT
Direct Officer at the Heavenly Stem can be interpreted as your Reputation. Your Reputation sitting on, or controlling, the competition represented by your Rob Wealth, here is the opportunity to create a flagship product or service. This flagship product or service must offer powerful brand experiences that will leave a strong impact on brand attitude, brand attachment and brand equity. In short, flagships create a halo effect that trickles down to your other businesses or projects.
Alternatively, Direct Officer is Authority, while Rob Wealth represents teamwork or leadership. For career professionals, there is a possibility to grow your career by taking a lead part in a turnkey project. Your job, would be to find that turnkey project.
On a personal development level, there is a clear caution against adopting a ‘win-at-all-costs’ mindset. In this scenario, from the Ji Earth Day Master’s point of view, the benevolent Direct Officer energy is controlling or suppressing three aggressive energies represented by your Rob Wealth, 7 Killings and Indirect Wealth. Hence, the emphasis on more diplomacy to tone down the fireworks.
Obviously, there is nothing wrong with wanting to win! However, this win-at-all-cost mindset (DO on RW) may create more unnecessary problems. Winning at all cost may work in the short term. But could be costly for long-term success. Like athletes who over-trains to the point of destroying their bodies just for one trophy. No meaning!
